In our previous post, we explained that Flores en el mar is gathering information about services and support available to women working on cruise ships. Today, we present the first of these resources: SeafarerHelp, the helpline operated by the International Seafarers’ Welfare and Assistance Network (ISWAN).
SeafarerHelp is available to seafarers and their families, regardless of their nationality or where they are in the world. It is a free, confidential and multilingual service, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Its team provides a listening ear and emotional support, practical guidance, and information on a range of issues that may affect people working at sea. You can contact the service to discuss a concern, request information, or receive guidance on other organisations that may be able to assist you.
How can I contact SeafarerHelp?
- WhatsApp: +44 7909 470732
- Phone +44 20 7323 2737
- Web : https://www.iswan.org.uk/seafarerhelp/
If you would prefer to communicate in a language other than English, just let the team know when you contact them.
At Flores en el mar, we are sharing this resource to facilitate access to information, guidance and support, both on board and during port calls in Montevideo, Punta del Este and other ports.
